Cave protection zones - Liskovská Cave

Under the Mních massive at Lisková village, there is a cave which is the tenth longest in Slovakia by its so far surveyed length (4 060 m). The Liskovská Cave was declared national nature monument in 1996, which guarantees the highest possible level of legal protection in our country.

Generally binding regulation to declare the protection zone of the national nature monument:

GENERALLY BINDING REGULATION

The Regional Office for the Environment in Žilina
no. 5/2003 of October 29, 2003,
which declares the protection zone of the
Liskovská Liskovská Cave national nature monument

The Regional Office for the Environment in Žilina according to the § 24 sections 8 and 21 of the act no. 543/2002 of the Legal Codes on nature and landscape protection (further on only „act“) and § 7 section 2 of the act no. 525/2003 of the Legal Codes on state administration of the environment and on change and amendments of some acts enacts:

§ 1
Subject of protection of the national nature monument Liskovská Cave
  1. The protection zone of the national nature monument Liskovská Cave (further on only „protection zone of the national nature monument“) is declared.
  2. The subject of protection in the protection zone of the national nature monument are the sensitive cave geosystems.
  3. The conditions for protection are in force on the territory of protection zone of the national nature monument according to § 24 sections 9 and 10 of the act.
§ 2
Demarcation of borders of the national nature monument protection zone
  1. The national nature monument protection zone is located in Ružomberok district, in the cadastral territory Lisková on plots no. 1756 a 2455 (forest areas) and in the cadastral territory Martinček on plots no. 112 a 113/1 (permanent grassy growths) according to the cadastral map M 1: 5 000 with state to 2003.
  2. The national nature monument protection zone covers the area of 15.8545 ha.
  3. The national nature monument protection zone is marked in the field according to the cadastral map in scale M 1 : 5 000 with state to 2003 and forest stand map M 1 : 10 000, which is a part of the forest management plan on the forest management unit Liptovská Teplá with state to January 1, 1998.
§ 3
Marking and indication of the national nature monument protection zone
  1. The borders of the national nature monument protection zone will be marked in the land registry. The maps with plotted borders of the national nature monument protection zone are together with this regulation and other documentation stored and available for inspection in the state list of individually protected parts of nature and landscape at the Regional Office for the Environment in Žilina, at the Slovak Caves Administration in Liptovský Mikuláš, at the Peripheral Office for the Environment in Ružomberok and at the Municipal Office in Lisková and Martinček.
  2. Indication of the national nature monument protection zone in the field will be provided by the Slovak Caves Administration within six months from the date of effectiveness of this regulation.
§ 4
Effectiveness

This regulation is effective from December 1, 2003.
