Caves infrastructure
The Slovak Caves Administration looks after the spaces and facilities underground and in cave entrance buildings, including construction, maintenance and safe operation. These activities are provided from own sources and some of them are partially or entirely financed from the Structural Funds of the European Union.
Overview of projects for building or reconstruction of entrance building to show caves and underground infrastructure executed in the recent years:
Demänovská Cave of Liberty
Construction of sanitary facilities and buffet at the cave – 2001-2002
Demänovská Ice Cave
Reconstruction of the cave entrance building. Building of the first floor, widening the terrace, stabilizing and widening the path to cave – 2004-2005
Bystrianska Cave
Static securing of the rock portal over the cave exit – 2004
Dobšinská Ice Cave

Reconstruction of the show path in cave from stainless steel material. Project partially reimbursed by the Structural funds of the European Union – 2004-2008.
Domica Cave

Modern information centre of environmental education for cave and nature protection. Building of a shelter close to entrance building, with adjustment of terrain. Project partially reimbursed by the Structural funds of the European Union – 2005.
Driny Cave
Construction of water connection and water treatment station for the cave entrance building – 2005-2006
Gombasecká Cave
Complete reconstruction of electrical installation in cave, change of distributors, electrical lines, lighting. Project realized in two phases – 2004-2005.

Adaptations of cave entrance. Roofing the terrace, pavement, changing of doors and handrails. Project partially reimbursed by the Structural funds of the European Union – 2005.
Harmanecká Cave
The construction of a new entrance building including engineering networks – 2003-2005
Jasovská Cave
Securing the rocky portal above the entrance building and pathway. Construction of barriers and blasting of a rocky part. – 2003

Change of doors and lattices in entrances of 8 show caves. Project partially reimbursed by the Structural funds of the European Union – 2005-2007.
