Domica Cave

Close to the state boundary with Hungary there is the Domica Cave, forming a single genetic unit with the Hungarian Baradla Cave. Except for the typical flowstone shields, drums and rimstone lakes, the visitors admire underground boat ride on the Styx River.

An educational trail with karst themes is installed in the cave exterior.

Environmental and pedagogical exposition in the Domica Cave entrance building

The original exposition of archaeological discoveries and flowstone decoration was installed in showcases of the Domica Cave entrance building. This exposition was supplemented in 2004 – 2005 by other 5 showcases with an example of karren, dolines, caves, archaeological artefacts and historical exposition. The showcases are supplemented by 8 boards, which present basic types of karren, dolines, caves, rocky shapes in caves, flowstone decoration, cave animals, archaeological findings and the role of water in karst. A room with larger scale projections of educational films was established. In the exterior, there is a small exposition of basic rocks in the Slovak Karst.
